The SAS 70 Certification for Media Recovery has been renewed by Weaver & Tidwell recently. SAS 70 Certification is only conferred after a company passes a rigorous and extensive audit of their Data Eradication and Tape Disposal Services. The company was the first Datacenter that achieve SAS 70 Type II Certification last year. Even more, Media Recovery also finished enhancements to their Operations Center and transportation services by constructing a new floor-to-ceiling storage facility with a data vault capacity to secure over 300,000 data tapes that features card key security — allowing restricted access to only authorized personnel within the organization — and GPS tracking on Media Recovery vehicles transporting materials from the customer site into the facility. With heightened information safety concerns creating challenges for Datacenter professionals across the country, and the passage of legislation—such as Sarbanes-Oxley, the Financial Modernization Act of 1999, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)—Media Recovery sought to renew their certification and upgrade their storage facility to provide documented and continued assurance to customers regarding the safety and reliability of their Datacenter service offerings.
