    Cox Communications is enhancing its online services and taking Web-based security protection for its high-speed
Internet customers to a new level with the launch of the Cox Security Suite powered by McAfee. The easy-to-install service is available free to all Cox High Speed Internet customers.

    Tammy Heitkamp, a marketing director at Cox Communications Arizona, says: "We were one of the first Internet service providers to offer a free security suite to our customers", "And now we're partnering with McAfee, the industry leader in online security, to offer what amounts to an arsenal of tools to help keep families and home computers safe, protected and virus-free."

    The new security suite will include a number of new features including:
    - McAfee VirusScan
    - PrivacyService
    - SiteAdvisor


    The Cox Security Suite powered by McAfee also includes anti- spyware, anti-virus, customer identity theft protection, personal firewall protection and parental control features to filter offensive content, pictures and Web sites.

    "Parents can set Internet time limits, use custom keyword filtering and use a special image analysis feature to protect children from potentially offensive content and pictures online", says Heitkamp.

    Cox Communications is the third largest cable provider and a multi-service broadband communications company serving nearly 3 million residential and business product subscribers in Arizona (a product subscriber represents an individual service purchased by a customer). Cox serves approximately 2.5 million product subscribers In the metro Phoenix and approximately 400,000 product subscribers in Southern Arizona. Cox's 18,000-mile hybrid fiber coaxial cable network throughout Phoenix and Southern Arizona provides homes and businesses with digital television, high speed Internet, home networking, high-definition television and digital telephone service over its own nationwide IP network, as well as integrated wireless services in partnership with Sprint.
